Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya recently initiated the sales and distribution of 4,000 metric tonnes of subsidized fertilizer to farmers for the 2024 wet season, aiming to boost agriculture in the state. This initiative is part of the state’s efforts to ensure food security and economic growth. Farmers will receive the fertilizer at a 50% discount, with half of the stock sold directly and the other half distributed through cooperative societies. This move aligns with federal initiatives to enhance agricultural output. The Governor also emphasized the importance of timely access to agricultural inputs, modern farming techniques, and international partnerships, highlighting the potential to transform Gombe State into an agricultural hub in the Northeast region.
