Kano State Governor Kabir Yusuf has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the Federal Government’s donation of 70 trucks of fertilizers to support farmers in the state.
In a statement released on Friday by the Governor’s Director-General of Media and Publicity, Malam Sunusi Bature, Yusuf expressed his gratitude on behalf of the government and people of Kano State.
“This donation aligns with the state’s commitment to agricultural transformation, ensuring accessibility and affordability of high-quality agricultural inputs to enhance crop production,” Yusuf stated.
The governor also mentioned that he had previously instructed the state Agricultural Supply Company (KASCO) to commence large-scale fertilizer production for the 2024 rainy season to aid smallholder farmers.
Kano, a leading crop-producing state, is well-suited for cultivating staple crops such as rice, maize, and soybeans.
