Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has commenced the rollout of farm supplies to 40,000 small-scale farmers through his ‘A Koma Gona’ initiative, spanning all 23 local government areas. Addressing the farming community during the event today, Governor Sani underscored the significance of agriculture in sustaining livelihoods and the economy. He highlighted the challenges faced by smallholder farmers and agro-processors, emphasizing the government’s commitment to addressing these challenges and enhancing the sector’s growth. The ‘Tallafin Noma – A Koma Noma’ program aims to support farmers with crop and livestock inputs, including maize seeds, fertilizers, chicks, and fish juveniles. Mechanization efforts involve distributing power tillers and accessories to cooperative groups, while individuals receive knapsack sprayers and personal protection gear. Additionally, agro-processors benefit from the provision of processing equipment to add value to agricultural produce. Governor Sani urged beneficiaries to utilize the resources effectively, reiterating the government’s dedication to agricultural revitalization. Commissioner of Agriculture, Murtala Dabo, lauded the initiative for its potential to bolster food security and rural economies. Local government chairman, Sadiq Ibrahim Salihu, expressed gratitude for the governor’s unwavering support, recognizing the initiative’s positive impact on rural communities and agricultural productivity.
