Dangote Petroleum Refinery clarified that the reduction in diesel price to N940 per litre applies exclusively to customers purchasing five million litres or more.
In a statement on Tuesday, Mr. Anthony Chiejina, the Head of Communication, provided clarification, stating that the price of N970 per litre is applicable to customers purchasing one million litres and above. It has been reported that Dangote Refinery has implemented its third reduction in diesel prices, with rates set at N940 and N970 per litre, respectively.
The company had previously introduced two price reductions, resulting in the diesel price falling to N1,000 per litre from N1,600.
It’s worth remembering that Dangote Refinery’s entry into the Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) market significantly influenced the West Africa oil and gas sector.
On May 22 of the previous year, the 650,000 barrels per day crude oil refinery was inaugurated.
Nevertheless, the facility has not yet started selling fuel.
According to Standard and Poor’s Global Commodities, Dangote Refinery is projected to begin fuel sales in the fourth quarter of 2024.
