Eurobase Consult Limited, in partnership with the federal government and foreign investors, will convene next week at a special agro-equipment and technology expo. The purpose of this gathering is to brainstorm ideas and devise innovative solutions to the challenges of agricultural mechanization.
Scheduled for April 16 in Abuja, the two-day event aims to exhibit a wide range of agricultural machinery tailored to enhance productivity and sustainability in food production. Experts will focus their discussions on the theme of “Sustainable Food Security and Agro Produce Export Through Mechanization.
During a briefing to announce the event in Abuja, Don Ekesiobi, the Group Chairman of Eurobase Africa, stated that the expo is a response to President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency on food security. Its objective is to address the mechanization gap and advocate for sustainable food production and export through advanced mechanization.
Ekesiobi emphasized the vital role of mechanization in attaining sustainable food security, stressing the necessity for stakeholders to collaborate in formulating both immediate and enduring solutions to food crises through mechanization.
The expo is anticipated to serve as a platform for knowledge sharing among farmers, stakeholders, and experts, demonstrating the government’s commitment to bolstering agriculture and advancing technological advancements.
According to Ekesiobi, the event will feature interactive demonstrations and discussions on cutting-edge farming techniques, enabling networking opportunities with leading suppliers, manufacturers, and industry professionals, and providing insight into the latest agricultural technologies.
He mentioned that panel discussions would focus on tackling significant challenges and identifying opportunities in sustainable agriculture.
He emphasized, “It’s crucial to recognize that the government alone cannot address these challenges without the involvement of private sector participation. This underscores the focus of Eurobase, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, on organizing a two-day stakeholders’ engagement aimed at resolving Nigeria’s food crises.
It’s imperative for us as a nation to unite and collectively brainstorm to offer both immediate short-term and long-term interventions.”
