Success Aladeselu, a Nigerian student, achieved a significant victory at the recently concluded Global Youth Climate Summit 2023 held in Tanzania. The summit, organized by the Global Youth Leadership Centre, the Tanzania Forest Service Agency, and the University of Dar es Salaam, among other partners, attracted over 500 enthusiastic and motivated changemakers from various parts of the world.
Reflecting on her win, Aladeselu expressed a mix of emotions upon hearing her name announced as the first winner among nine others from different countries. She described feeling overwhelmed with gratitude, joy, and a hint of embarrassment initially. However, she soon embraced the thrill and honor that came with the recognition and opportunity. In addition to being selected as a delegate, she also won The Youth Climate Champion Prize/Grant for her project entry, which further elevated her experience at the summit.
