The Akwa Ibom State government has unveiled plans to collaborate with Bertola Machine Tools Limited to bolster food production in the region, aligning with its commitment to realizing the agricultural revolution goals outlined in the ARISE Agenda.
Governor Umo Eno made this announcement during a weekend visit to the company’s premises in Ifa Atai, Airport Road, Uyo. He toured the facility, inspecting purpose-built machines and tools tailored for agricultural activities.
The governor confirmed intentions to establish equipment leasing services to grant farmers access to vital machinery, thereby boosting food sufficiency. Collaboration with Bertola Machine Tools Limited is deemed crucial in attaining this objective.
Governor Eno applauded Bertola for its consistent performance in the equipment and machinery industry, lauding the company for upholding its integrity in nationwide transactions over the years.
“As part of our agricultural revolution,” he stated, “we are establishing an equipment leasing company to aid farmers in Akwa Ibom. That’s why we’re here.”
“We’re discussing an agricultural revolution,” Governor Eno emphasized, “and if someone possesses what we require to realize this vision, we must support and engage with them.”
Furthermore, Governor Eno instructed the Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Offiong Offor, and the Commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Professor Eno Ibanga, to collaborate on crafting a partnership agreement with Bertola Machine Tools Limited.
