The National Agricultural Commodities Project (NACP) has warned farmers about fraudulent messages requesting payments for the upcoming dry season farming activities.
To prevent being scammed, NACP urged farmers to verify any information through the appropriate channels.
In a statement from NACP’s Chairman/CEO, Dr. John Aderibigbe, and Secretary General, Dr. Austine Maduka, they cautioned: “Be aware of false claims. Be particularly cautious of messages demanding N3,000 for data digitization and onboarding, data capture from September 15 to October 15, input distribution in November (including water pumping machines, fertilizers, seeds, and herbicides), and promises of the federal government covering 69% of total costs as palliative support.”
NACP initiatives operate through public-private partnerships, where farmers contribute equity and settle the balance after harvest.
