At Oke Ako Ekiti, Governor Oyebanji praised the youth for their skill and dedication to the success of the agricultural project. He announced that the state government had finalized plans to rehabilitate the road from Ayedun to Oke Ako and promised to provide electricity to the town soon.
The Governor assured residents that compensation for those whose farms were acquired, and for whom enumeration had been completed, would be paid within two weeks.
Despite the challenges posed by the shortage of rain this year, Governor Oyebanji commended the farmers for their perseverance, pledging to introduce irrigation systems and provide each farmer with raincoats and boots. He also promised to provide a vehicle for each group to ensure easy mobility and constant farm access.
Governor Oyebanji highlighted that the support for this initiative came from President Bola Tinubu, stating, “The state government doesn’t have the resources for this level of support. I approached the President with my vision for agriculture, and he gave us the backing we needed. From that support, we plan to provide a bus for each group to enhance their operations.”
He added, “We have made significant progress in infrastructure, education, and health. Now, it’s time to focus on feeding our people. My goal for next year is to produce enough food to sustain the people of Ekiti.”
