Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has urged Nigerians to invest in livestock farming, highlighting its potential to boost economic growth.
Speaking at the launch of a new factory by Danone Limited, owners of Fan Milk Plc, in Ibadan, Obasanjo stated, “I encourage the Oyo State Government to transform the state into a dairy hub by utilizing its livestock and dairy production potential. Educate local farmers on dairy farming practices.”
He commended Fan Milk-Danone for its six decades of investment in Nigeria, adding, “I appreciate Fan Milk-Danone for its over 60 years of commitment to Nigeria.”
Governor Seyi Makinde, represented by his deputy, Bayo Lawal, reassured investors of his administration’s dedication to fostering a business-friendly environment.
He praised Fan Milk-Danone for its positive economic impact, provision of quality nutrition, and resilience in the face of economic challenges, stating, “Our administration remains committed to ensuring security and facilities while implementing business-supportive policies.”
