Comrade Mohammed Abubakar Jibo, Chairman of Dass Local Government Area in Bauchi State, praised the Federal Government and Governor Bala Abdul Mohammed for their ongoing efforts to enhance agriculture in the state and the nation to ensure food sufficiency.
Speaking at the distribution of fertilizers to 1,200 farmers from Dass’s 13 wards, Jibo emphasized that government support in agriculture is crucial for food security. He announced that Governor Mohammed had approved the allocation of two trucks of NPK and SPP fertilizers from the Central Bank of Nigeria’s 70-truck provision for the state, distributing them to farmers free of charge to alleviate the economic strain and motivate them to cultivate.
Jibo also lauded Governor Mohammed for providing tractors and other farming equipment to boost agricultural productivity statewide, complementing the Federal Government’s agricultural development efforts.
He urged farmers to use the fertilizers wisely and refrain from selling them, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to promoting agriculture and achieving food security in the region. Jibo encouraged the community to continue cultivating both food and economic crops, highlighting Dass’s reputation for rice farming.
