Senator Sahabi Ya’u, representing Zamfara North, has distributed fertilizer, seeds, chemicals, insecticide, and other farm inputs free of charge to his constituents to boost food security.
During the distribution ceremony at Kaura Namoda local government headquarters, Senator Ya’u explained that the gesture aims to support farmers in his constituency and encourage their commitment to food production. The farm inputs will be distributed across the four local government areas of his constituency: Birnin Magaji, Shinkafi, Zurmi, and Kaura Namoda.
Senator Ya’u highlighted the importance of assisting people, especially during challenging times. The distributed items include four trucks of fertilizer, 150 cartons of fertilizer chemicals, 250 bags of hybrid maize seeds, 250 bags of hybrid rice seeds, chemicals, and spraying machines.
He urged beneficiaries to use the inputs effectively to enhance their farm yields and contribute to food security in the state and the nation. Addressing the issue of banditry, which has plagued the area and caused many farmers to abandon their farms, Senator Ya’u expressed optimism that the efforts of security agents will soon make banditry a thing of the past. He assured that the President is committed to ensuring the protection of lives and property for all citizens.
