The Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN) commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday for establishing the Ministry of Livestock Development, viewing it as a sincere effort to resolve the long-standing conflicts between farmers and herders in Nigeria.
In a statement, KACRAN National President Hon. Khalil Mohd Bello said that by creating this ministry and a special commission focused on the livestock sector, President Tinubu has shown an unprecedented commitment to addressing critical issues.
Khalil noted that the ministry will work diligently to improve livestock productivity and address the ongoing conflicts between farmers and herders, who are vital to each other’s livelihoods.
“We commend President Tinubu for his magnanimity and dedication to fostering peace, unity, and prosperity in Nigeria,” he said. “Additionally, his substantial financial support for the North East Development Commission (NEDC) is significantly contributing to the region’s overall development.”
Khalil also urged President Tinubu to appoint a dedicated, humble, honest, and transparent individual as the minister of the new ministry, emphasizing that this appointment is crucial for achieving the president’s vision of a developed livestock sector that will create millions of jobs for those engaged in livestock production.
KACRAN also expressed deep appreciation to Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni for his generous distribution of 5,350 ruminants to women in Yobe State.
