The North-East Development Commission (NEDC) has inaugurated a modern cattle market in Soro village, Ganjuwa Local Government Area, Bauchi State. This market, one of the largest in the region, aims to enhance commercial activities, boost revenue generation, and improve the socio-economic well-being of the people.
Mohammed Alkali, Managing Director/CEO of NEDC, highlighted that the project is designed to modernize livestock trade and facilitate commercial activities. He emphasized that the new market would enhance business operations in Soro and across Bauchi State, serving as a significant source of revenue and employment.
Governor Bala Mohammed, represented by Yakubu Bello, Permanent Secretary of the Bauchi State Ministry of Commerce and Industry, acknowledged the market’s potential to create numerous job opportunities for the youth and pledged to ensure its effective use. He also called for similar projects in other local government areas with large cattle markets.
