Ahead of the upcoming SIAL Network event, which will convene agricultural stakeholders from Africa and beyond, Mr. Akin Akinbola, the Managing Director of Promosalons, disclosed that approximately 15-16 Nigerian agribusiness companies will showcase their products at the summit. Speaking exclusively to AgroNigeria, Mr. Akin emphasized Nigeria’s significant presence, citing the country’s importance as the focus shifts towards Africa. Additionally, he highlighted funding opportunities for local farmers through CDI in the Netherlands, in collaboration with the Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC), specifically for those exhibiting products at the show. These farmers, already identified by NEPC, await confirmation from their sponsoring country.
Nicolas Trentesaux, the MD of SIAL Network in France, underscored the summit’s potential to bolster Nigeria’s food production, quality, and marketing strategies, fostering independence in these domains. Looking ahead to 2024, he anticipates increased participation from Nigerian delegations not only in Paris but also in other key markets like China, India, and Indonesia. This strategic engagement, he believes, will enhance Nigeria’s competitiveness in the global food market.
