Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Sabi Abdullahi, unveiled this ambition in Abuja during the grand inauguration of Nigeria’s first-ever World Agritourism Day celebration. He hailed the World Agritourism Organization (WAO), led by President Trust Henry Ogboi, for their instrumental role in advancing agritourism and orchestrating the momentous occasion. Abdullahi underscored agritourism’s multifaceted potential, envisioning it as a catalyst for financial prosperity, educational enrichment, and societal cohesion. From immersive farm tours to vibrant festivals and enlightening educational programs, agritourism promises to bridge the gap between visitors and the agricultural landscape. Moreover, the minister reaffirmed the ministry’s unwavering dedication to forging alliances with diverse stakeholders, including federal ministries and the private sector, to establish a sustainable ecosystem that upholds stringent standards and regulations.
