According to experts from the European Commission, the EU rapeseed harvest might decrease from last year’s 19.8 million tons to 19.4 million tons due to adverse weather conditions, such as low temperatures and heavy precipitation. France is expected to maintain its lead in rapeseed production with 4.435 million tons, similar to its output in 2023.
However, other key regions are anticipated to experience declines: Germany from 4.239 to 4.06 million tons, Poland from 3.685 to 3.486 million tons, Romania from 1.945 to 1.739 million tons, and the Czech Republic from 1.293 to 1.146 million tons. It’s worth noting that the European Commission’s current estimate is notably higher than the International Grain Council’s forecast of 18.8 million tons.
