Musa Sule, the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, recently showcased the significant accomplishments of his department during the 2024 ministerial briefing organized by the Plateau State Ministry of Information. A key highlight was the ministerial visit to the Plateau DUNCAN Fertilizer Blending Plant in Larwin, Barkin Ladi, where they participated in the launch of various fertilizers and the official plant opening.
During his tenure, Sule has visited various industrial sites, such as the Cassava Processing Plant in Gakok-Kuru, Jos, and the premises of Jos International Brewery PLC, to emphasize the Ministry’s dedication to supporting diverse sectors of the economy.
The Commissioner also stressed the importance of fostering partnerships and collaboration, as demonstrated by the interactive sessions held with representatives from the Farmers Association, Bank of Industry (BOI), aiming to promote export crops and enhance agricultural productivity.
Additionally, the Ministry’s involvement in events like the Kastina International Trade Fair in February 2024 showcased Plateau’s economic potential and attracted investment opportunities to the state.
In the future, Sule plans to implement initiatives such as establishing a Potato Processing Plant at Gakok-Kuru and relocating the Cassava Processing Plant to the Southern zone, subject to approval by the previous administration. The Commissioner also emphasized the importance of supporting cooperative societies and creating a comprehensive database for investment and industrial potentials, demonstrating the Ministry’s dedication to inclusive economic growth.
Sule reaffirmed the Ministry’s unwavering commitment to promoting economic growth, facilitating industrial development, and creating a favorable business environment on the Plateau. The Ministry seeks ongoing collaboration and support from stakeholders to achieve its objectives.

Additionally, the Ministry visited the already-established Cassava Processing Plant in Gakok-Kuru, Jos, in the South LGA, and the premises of Jos International Brewery PLC, where equipment for the Cassava Processing Plant was stored.
In collaboration with consultants, the Ministry conducted visits to two proposed sites for an international market: one near the Police Staff College Zawan and another along the Kuru-Foron junction. A parameter survey was completed, with the land covering 69.5 hectares, as reported by the Commissioner.
During the ministerial briefing, other departments, such as Lands and Survey, Works, Transport, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, also shared their accomplishments.
