Farmers in the Southwest, represented by the Southwest Commodity Farmers Organization (SCFO), and Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote peaceful co-existence. They emphasized that the MoU aims to uphold food sustainability and production.
Following the signing ceremony at a summit held in Ibadan, Oyo State, Olusegun Dasaolu, the Coordinator of SCFO, expressed that the summit was convened to address the challenges faced by farmers in the Southwest region.
He stated that the MoU represented a mutual agreement between herders and farmers in the Southwest to collaborate harmoniously and enhance food production.
The coordinator observed that the MoU would aid both parties in identifying authentic herders and farmers in the region, thereby improving the farming experience for all involved.
