The Ogun state government has introduced a new farming initiative focused on including youths and Small scale farmers. Prince Dapo Abiodun’s administration pledges to allocate additional land and offer training to farmers across the state. Building upon the 40,000 farmers already supported by the government, the governor aims to expand this number by 80,000. Dare Odunfowokan, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications to Ogun State, envisions a vibrant farming community where ideas, stories, and solutions are exchanged, positively impacting lives. The government also promises to provide more grants and loans to farmers.
While addressing concerns about farmer security, the governor’s spokesperson highlights initiatives such as the Department of Ethnic Relations and Farm Rangers established to enhance farm security. Through these efforts, the government endeavors to effectively combat food scarcity in Ogun State.
