The Ministry of Finance and TechnoServe Nigeria are currently in discussions to potentially collaborate on enhancing food and nutrition security within the country.
A recent meeting between TechnoServe Nigeria’s team and officials from the Ministry of Finance allowed for the presentation of TechnoServe’s programs and their impact, with a specific focus on Nigeria’s circumstances.
The primary aim was to align TechnoServe’s objectives with the Ministry’s priorities, initiatives, and overarching policy orientation concerning food and nutrition security, emphasizing TechnoServe’s interest in private sector engagement.
Ayodele Tella, the senior program manager for Food Fortification, spearheaded the TechnoServe delegation during the visit to Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance.
In the meeting, Tella delivered a thorough presentation outlining TechnoServe’s mission, previous accomplishments, and well-established footprint in Nigeria.
She underscored their commitment to enhancing the livelihoods and earnings of industrious individuals in marginalized regions across various value chains. Their strategy revolves around supporting communities in establishing robust farms and enterprises, thereby providing pragmatic solutions to alleviate poverty.
Moreover, Tobi Durotoye, TechnoServe’s deputy program director, spotlighted his organization’s endeavors in food fortification, particularly through the Inspiring Good Nutrition Initiative Through Enterprise (IGNITE) program.
