Ogun State’s Commissioner for Agriculture, Bolu Owotomo, has affirmed Governor Dapo Abiodun’s steadfast dedication to supporting farmers through specialized intervention initiatives aimed at boosting their productivity and profitability. This assurance was conveyed during the 12th edition of the Nigeria Poultry Show 2023, organized by the Nigeria Poultry Association under the theme “Mitigating the Challenges of the Poultry Industry: Current Perspective, the Role of Government and Private Sector.” The event took place at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Owotomo acknowledged that both the federal and state governments are cognizant of the hurdles confronting the poultry sector, particularly the exorbitant cost of feed. He reiterated their commitment to fostering a conducive environment, ensuring security, and promoting cluster farming to guarantee a consistent maize supply for poultry feed production.
In her message of goodwill, Abisola Olusanya, the Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture, underscored the government’s obligation to the sector and affirmed its determination to take requisite measures to address concerns within the industry.
