The World Food Prize Foundation has revealed that Hon. Qu Dongyu, the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), will serve as the special keynote speaker at the Norman E. Borlaug International Dialogue, taking place from October 24 to 26, 2023.
Described by organizers as a fervent advocate for the overhaul of agrifood systems to enhance efficiency, inclusivity, resilience, and sustainability, Dr. Qu Dongyu champions what is known as the “Four Betters”: better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life.
Having previously held the position of China’s Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA), Dr. Qu Dongyu is slated to deliver a keynote address alongside other distinguished guests during the 2023 Borlaug Dialogue.
The Borlaug Dialogue, also referred to as the “Borlaug Dialogue,” spans three days and serves as a platform for individuals from over 65 countries to deliberate on issues concerning global food security and nutrition. The event attracts global leaders, experts, educators, students, and more, all convening to explore transformative strategies for establishing a sustainable, equitable, and nourishing food system.
